As the Enforcement Decree of the Korean Patent Act was revised, “patent applications directly related to Electronic Commerce” were excluded from the subjects of the accelerated examination, but “international patent applications for which the Korean Intellectual Property Office conducted international searches as an international searching authority in conformity of the Patent Cooperation Treaty” became a new subject of the accelerated examination.

The revised Enforcement Decree in this regard came into effect on July 9, 2019.
