1. In order to make it more convenient for foreign clients when they designate the detailed goods or services according to the Korean regulations, the Korean Intellectual Property Office has decided to accept the total number of 279 inclusive names of goods and services, while KIPO accepts the existing detailed goods and services. Such newly-accepted inclusive names of the goods and services will be applied to the trademark application cases to be filed on or after September 16, 2008.
2. For example, such inclusive names of goods as "toiletries" in Int'l Cl. 3, "unwrought or semi-wrought common metals" in Int'l Cl. 6, "cooking apparatus and installations" in Int'l Cl. 11, "vehicles for locomotion by land, air, water or rail" in Int'l Cl. 12, "jewel and precious metals" in Int'l Cl. 14, "containers for household or kitchen use" in Int'l Cl. 21, "tableware, othe than knives, forks and spoons" in Int'l Cl. 21, "clothing" in Int'l Cl. 25 and "alcoholic beverages (except beer)" in Int'l Cl. 33 will be accepted.
That is, even if you designate the goods "clothing", they can cover such detailed names of goods as "sports wears, outer garments, coats, Korean-style clothing, underwears, shirts, scarf, waterproof clothing".
